Buy Carbon filament in EU

Discover 3D printing with Carbon filament, also referred to as PC-PETG. In this selection, you can find premium carbon-infused filament for your 3D printing projects.

Carbon fiber filament is used to refer to a group of filament materials containing extremely small strands of carbon fiber. Carbon fibers are seldomly used on their own and are mostly combined with other composite materials. For this reason, you can find many different types of materials infused with carbon fibers. Adding carbon fiber will incorporate its properties into a composite material. Carbon fiber has increased in popularity in a range of industries and continues to be used due to its many exceptional material qualities. Due to the materials’ abrasiveness, a hardened steel nozzle is required during 3D printing.

We would like to highlight some of the properties that make carbon fiber filament unique:

  • High tensile strength
  • Great chemical resistance
  • Extreme stiffness
  • High-temperature tolerance
  • Superior rigidity
  • Lightweight

We offer carbon fiber ABS filament, Nylon filament, and PETG filament. Real Filament provides high-quality filament so that you can easily print carbon fiber with great consistency. Printing filament infused with carbon fibers will include the listed properties above and provide 3D printed parts that are long-lasting and durable.

Printing with Carbon filament

The printing instructions for carbon filament will be similar to those of the base materials. The typical temperature range for the extruder should be set around 240°C. In case you would like to use a heated bed during the print, have a temperature range between 45°C-60°C for successful prints. For proper adhesion, we advise using a PEI sheet or Kapton tape. An enclosure is not required however using one will avoid temperature variations and keep printing odors to a minimum. Please perform your 3D printing in a well-ventilated area.

Use the right nozzle

For the best results, the appropriate nozzle should be utilized to ensure high-quality 3D printing. Carbon filament will erode a standard brass nozzle and result in irreversible nozzle damage. Use a hardened steel nozzle to avoid clogging and harm to your 3D printer. You can also set your retraction settings lower to diminish the chances of oozing and stringing. There are more nozzle types that are compatible with carbon fiber filament such as a ruby nozzle and titanium nozzles. Use a cleaning filament to maintain your nozzle throughout prints!

Store your carbon filament

Store your carbon fiber filament for maximum longevity and preserve the quality of your filament by placing your spools in an airtight container with silica gel bags. This will ensure that the filament will not absorb moisture and stay dry. To store your carbon filament best, use a dry box.
